Family owned, Coromandel NZ

Our story

Gonubie Limited is a New Zealand-based, family-owned honey business trading as RILEY. We source, grade, pack, and export mānuka, pōhutukawa, and native honey from our base on the Coromandel Peninsula, with quality, integrity, and sustainability as the standards we hold ourselves to.

The RILEY name comes from a member of the family — a honey brand started with a young person's ambition to bring genuinely good New Zealand honey to people well beyond our own coastline.

The team is led by Wynand Breytenbach, a retired chemical engineer whose background in chemistry and international trade shapes how we grade, document, and ship every batch.

Our standards

Quality, integrity, sustainability

Our bees are cared for in pristine coastal Coromandel environments, and outside the mānuka flow they work orchard and flower blocks, pollinating fruit trees across the district. We harvest with respect for the role bees play in that wider landscape.

New Zealand honey is held to strict standards — free from additives or artificial ingredients — and we hold ourselves to the same standard whether a shipment is headed to a boutique retailer or a bulk importer.

When you choose RILEY honey, you're dealing directly with the family that keeps the bees, grades the honey, and signs off on every shipment.
